Graphic Designer

The Gresham Outlook is looking for a full-time Graphic Designer to help design a wide array of newspaper advertisements and promotional materials. The ideal candidate should be fluent in InDesign/Photoshop/Illustrator on a Mac operating system, and should be familiar with the four-color-press print media. Job requirements include the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines each week, the ability to work with in-house advertising representatives, the ability to work with a team of other designers, and have strong organizational skills. Previous experience in the print industry a plus (i.e., understanding rich black print issues.)

This position is full time (40 hours/week), M-F 8:00-5:00, and is expected to work in the Gresham Outlook office each working day.

Help Desk Technician

Pamplin Communications has an opportunity for an IT Support/Help Desk Technician to provide service to end users within Pamplin Communications and its subsidiary companies. This position offers an individual to join a team ‘tearing down and building up’ a better practiced, standardized, customer service oriented program with lots of professional opportunity.

Typically taking initial telephone or email inquiries and troubleshooting them remotely in a Tier1-2 capacity, the Technician will also help support the hardware and software related to client devices such as workstations, laptops, tablets, printers and other mobile devices within a primarily Windows (300 devices) + Apple (80 systems) environment.

Supports hardware and software related to desktop and mobile computing devices. Answers questions and resolves computer problems for users via telephone, in person, or typically via remote control. Installs, configures, tests, maintains, monitors, and troubleshoots end-user workstations and related hardware and software. Assists in managing-administering applications such as a Service Desk ticketing system or system imaging and deployment (e.g. SCCM, Zendesk, WDS, Casper).

Successful candidate must have 2-3 years relevant technical support experience in a dynamic environment; a 2 year degree, A+, Network+, or Security+ certificate is desired. Candidate needs to be proficient in deploying, upgrading and troubleshooting Windows 7/8 in a network environment, have familiarity with Windows Active Directory user provisioning, general networking concepts and Apple OSX/IOS. Inquisitive problem solvers with excellent communication and customer service skills are highly desired!

Candidate must also have reliable, personal transportation, be able to lift at least 40 pounds and be able to work in, on or under confined-constrained spaces.

Salary commensurate with experience based on a range of $19.23 - $23.07 hourly, comprehensive benefit package including health insurance and 401(k).

Project Administrator – Dredging Operations

Ross Island Sand & Gravel Co. has an immediate opening for a new position within our company for a Project Administrator in our Dredging Operations.

Ross Island Sand & Gravel Co. performs dredging and marine construction on waterways, lakes, channels, and bays throughout the West Coast of the United States. Projects typically last between two and five months, and will require the employee to remain on site during the project. While not active on a project, Portland, OR will remain company headquarters and projects will be completed here.

We are looking for an individual with business and finance acumen. This position requires someone with great organizational skills, the ability to multi-task, detail oriented, excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and a thorough knowledge of both Word and Excel and a high level of dependability and self-management.

This key position is responsible for:

  • Maintain and manage on-site project office.
  • Answer phones and assist with scheduling in relation to course of project.
  • Attend project meetings; assist with ‘to-do’ items as assigned.
  • Perform accounting tasks, including but not exclusive to, purchasing requests, accounts payable, project accounting, payroll recordkeeping, project related recordkeeping.
  • Assist with bid process.
  • Assists in the development of presentations.
  • Provide assistance to the project engineer, project team and management as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Minimum Requirements:

    Bachelor’s in Business or Engineering disciplines. Work experience may be substituted for degree.

    Must have experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

    Work Environment:

    Work will be conducted primarily in an office environment. Work will also be conducted at project sites, which may include boats, barges, shorelines, etc. Must be able to work in all elements of weather and enjoy working near or on the water.
