Tigers top Canby to clinch TRL title

It's official.

The Tigard High School girls basketball team is the Three Rivers League champion.

And the Tigers wrapped up sole possession of the league title in impressive style against a talented, persistent opponent.

Tigard, starting fast and then holding off a pair of Canby rallies, scored a league title-clinching 52-43 win over the Cougars in a league game played Friday at Tigard High School.

Rejuvenated Skyhawks roar past Apollos

The harsh reality of letting a Metro League championship slip right through its fingers might be the best thing that ever happened to the Southridge girls basketball team.

Refocused and pinpointed on making a late-season surge after losing a startling decision to Century 10 days ago, the Skyhawks were rejuvenated and offensively efficient in their 58-44 win over Sunset on Friday at Southridge High School.

Milwaukie guys, gals win at Putnam

Milwaukie High School's boys and girls basketball teams won a pair of barnburners at cross-town rival Putnam in a Friday night Northwest Oregon Conference doubleheader.

The Mustang girls won 34-29, avenging an earlier loss.

The Mustang guys prevailed 60-58 in the nightcap, making it a sweep in their rivals for the 2015-16 league season.

C.S. Lewis earns share of first-ever title

Although Friday night's regular season finale versus Falls City wasn’t particularly pretty, C.S. Lewis Academy got both things it wanted.

The Watchmen were a bit on autopilot in a 38-16 win over the Mountaineers, but found out shortly afterward that Crosshill Christian had beaten Perrydale, meaning that all three teams finished 14-2 and would share the Casco League title.

Damascus girls finish in first place

The Damascus Christian girls basketball team held on through a rough finish Friday night to claim the Valley 10 regular-season title with a 31-22 road win at North Clackamas Christian.
