Thank you for the median improvements

As a resident of the Hidden Springs neighborhood, I want to express my appreciation to the City of West Linn and the employees of our public works department for their successful median improvement project along Hidden Springs Road and Santa Anita Road.

The result clearly shows the great deal of care put into the planning and execution. I am also impressed by the department’s follow-up and frequent attention given to the new trees, shrubs and flowers to help them become established. They are flourishing and make these streets attractive and inviting to walk or travel.

It will be a pleasure to watch the trees grow in the coming years and to enjoy the shade, clean air and many other benefits they provide. My sincere thanks to all who worked to make this possible.

Volunteers make West Linn a great place to live

Recently I was honored by the West Linn City Council for my volunteer work for community service. I would like to thank the City Council for their recognition and the beautiful framed picture I received, produced by John Klatt of Old Oregon Photos.

I would also like to take this opportunity to recognize the numerous West Linn citizens who volunteer their time in our community. Whether it be people volunteering in their children’s schools, at their church, at the Adult Community Center, as a member of a civic or fraternal organization, on a city committee, a neighborhood association, a friends group, or volunteering as a youth sports team leader, with scouts and other youth organizations or volunteering in our parks pulling ivy, improving trails and tending to flower beds.

These people are all helping to make West Linn a better place to live. Thank you again to the West Linn City Council, by honoring me you are honoring all of the citizens who volunteer in our community.
