Don't recall people for doing good work

How many of you have read the 2014 city council goals published by the city of West Linn?

These goals were unanimously adopted on Jan. 14 by Mayor John Kovash and the city councilors, Jody Carson, Mike Jones, Jenni Tan and Thomas Frank. These dedicated volunteers purposely revealed where their time and effort will be expended for calendar year 2014.

In reviewing the 2014 city council goals, it exposed how our mayor and four councilors will be working hard to accomplish them with the residual donated hours they have after working full-time jobs, rearing families, attending community meetings and staying physically fit to do the work of the city. After reading these industrious goals, there is no way I would vote for a recall with a clear conscience. Our current city council has made solid achievements.

Our centennial year 2013 was a year of solid achievements, according to our respectful Mayor John Kovash. Mayor Kovash and the city councilors, Jody Carson, Mike Jones, Jenni Tan and Thomas Frank have already set goals for 2014 to keep our city of West Linn vibrant, functional and livable into the second century.

Our city government continues to be good stewards of our tax dollars so that the city received three awards for distinguished achievement in government finance. Fraud, waste and abuse or any other criminal activity hasn’t occurred under their watch. Therefore, our city council should be allowed to continue their good works for the benefit of all West Linn Citizens.

Mayor John Kovash and out city councilors, Jody Carson, Mike Jones, Jenni Tan and Thomas Frank should be congratulated on all of the accomplishments and achievements made in 2013 and support them on the goals of 2014. Let us show our gratitude to our West Linn city leaders and city volunteers for their time, talent and money to make our city a very livable, wonderful place to live.

We don’t recall people for doing good works. We volunteer to assist, support and commend them.
