Weather racks up damage in area parks

Share
Old Man Winter took a toll on West Linn parks this season, beginning with heavy snows and ice, to relentless rains and hellacious wind storm earlier this month. Mary S. Young Park, with its 100-plus acres, was particularly hard hit. The record moisture levels caused numerous slides, washing away some trails and uprooting numerous large trees. According to Ken Worchester, parks and recreation director, last week crews were hauling out the last of the debris from the January storm.
