Accompanied by handler and children's author Shannon Joy, Rojo crashed a school assembly, and then took an elevator down to the school's multipurpose room where Bolton classrooms took turns one-by-one to visit and pet the fluffy star.

Kids took turns feeding Rojo carrot sticks, doling out hugs and receiving llama kisses, while Joy told students about Rojo's story. The main character in Joy's first children's book, "Rojo, The Perfectly Imperfect Llama," Rojo teaches children the importance of accepting yourself for who you are.

"I always take Rojo to fairs and parades in the summers, even though he's shorter and lazier than other llamas," Joy said during Monday's assembly. "Now he comes with me to schools and hospitals, where he spreads his cheer to all sorts of people. He shows people that everyone is special."
