West Linn-Wilsonville Superintendent Bill Rhoades announced in an email to parents Monday, Feb. 15,, that he plans to retire at the conclusion of the 2015-16 school year. Rhoades has been with the WL-WV School District since 2011, and was assistant superintendent with the Hillsboro School District prior to that.
"While I have been blessed with opportunity throughout each of my 37 years in Oregon's public schools, it is important for me to say that I have never been happier, more joyous, or more proud of the collective efforts of a school community toward achieving the mission of helping each child, every child, reach their potential," Rhoades said. "I want to share my deep gratitude for giving me permission to lead this miracle making organization and for being so supportive of our children and their schools."
Rhoades said the school board was planning on discussing a draft process and related timelines for finding a replacement at a Feb. 22 work session.
