'Enemy' continues on WLHS stage

West Linn High School’s theater arts department opened a new production March 7.

Henrik Ibsen’s “An Enemy of the People” tells the story of a doctor in a small Norwegian town who discovers that the water supply to the town’s new municipal baths is polluted. When the doctor attempts to warn the public and close the spa, he runs afoul of local figures including his brother, the mayor.by: SUBMITTED PHOTO: JON ARES - Dr. Stockmann, played by Tristan Avery, makes his case at a public meeting in the WLHS production of An Enemy of the People.

When the mayor conspires with local politicians and the newspaper to suppress the story, for economic reasons, the doctor’s fight for truth begins in earnest.

“An Enemy of the People” continues this weekend, with shows at 7 p.m. March 14 and 15. Tickets are $5 for students and $8 for adults and may be purchased online in advance at wlhstheatre.org or at the WLHS box office starting at 6:30 on the night of the show.
