Local athletic camps for basketball and football are currently registering participants for next week's activities

The Woodburn High School boys basketball program is hosting its Junior Bulldog Basketball Camp on June 20-22.

The three-day camp is open to boys and girls from third to eighth grade from 1 to 3 p.m. at Woodburn High School. Camp instructors will focus on fundamentals, individual drills, team drills and full-court drills.

The camp will be hosted by Woodburn boys basketball coaches Ryan Slider, Tyron Manlov, Pedro Sandoval and Dan Knauf, as well as current players from the boys basketball program.

Registration costs $40 per player.

JFK Basketball Camp

The Kennedy High School boys and girls basketball programs are hosting their annual summer basketball camp for elementary and middle school athletes this month.

The camp gives young athletes an opportunity to develop basketball skills, virtues and build upon the foundation of basketball at Kennedy High School taught by varsity coaches Karl Schmidtman and Kerry Hall.

The camp runs June 26-28 at Kennedy High School for boys and girls in grades 3-8. The camp is divided by age, with grades 3-5 participating from 3:30 to 5 p.m. and grades 6-8 going from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

Registration costs $25 and includes a camp t-shirt. Pre-registration ends June 13.. Football skills camp

San Diego Chargers receiver and former Western Oregon football player Tyrell Williams is hosting a free offensive skills camp at Western Oregon University on June 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The camp is open to players in grades 7-12 and is limited to the first 150 athletes to register. Camp training will focus on quarterback, running back, wide receiver and tight end positions.

Cougar Hoop Camp

The Gervais basketball programs will be hosting their annual Cougar Hoop Camp June 26-30 at Gervais Middle School.

Registration costs $20 for boys and girls in kindergarten through eighth grade and includes a camp t-shirt.

Camp times are separated by age, with kindergarten through third grade meeting from 9 to 11:30 a.m., while athletes in fourth through eighth grade will meet from 1 to 4:30 p.m.
