Gervais boys place third at Sheridan

by: PHIL HAWKINS - Jordan Milkovich placed fifth in the javelin with a throw of 123-0 at Sheridan High School Thursday.Ben Goumy, Cody Tesch and Beverlyn Stott each won events for the Gervais track and field team Thursday at Sheridan High School.

Stott placed first in the 100 (13.52) and 200 (28.19), marking the second time this season the Gervais senior swept both sprints.

Goumy took top honors in the triple jump with a mark of 39-6 and won the 110 hurdles in 17.42. He added a second-place finish in the 300 hurdles in 46.69 and placed fourth in the long jump with a mark of 17-9.25.

Tesch won the 1,500 meter race in 4:31.28 and joined teammates Ivan Egoroff, Ricardo Flores Galvez and Luis Ibarra Rios to finish second in the 4x400 with a time of 4:01.14.

Jordan Milkovich followed his eighth-place finish at the Meet of Champions with a throw of 123-0 in the javelin to finish fifth.
