To coincide with the 50th anniversary of the Ford Mustang, organizers at the Woodburn Dragstrip are attempting to break a pair of world records Saturday.
The dragstrip is attempting to host both the largest parade of Ford Mustangs and the largest parade of Ford vehicles.
Already 820 vehicles are registered to participate in the event, which would break the current record of 620 Mustangs, but organizers are still looking for more participants to shatter the record by as large of a margin as possible.
The event begins at 10 a.m. and participants can register up to the day of the parade, which will drive a nearly 10-mile course through the country roads around the dragstrip.
All net proceeds from the event will go to benefit Oregon Impact, a non-profit that provides crash re-enactments at local schools and victim panels.
Registration forms are available for download at www.mustangparade.com, which has further information on the parade and the vehicles that are allowed to enter.
