The North Marion 3rd and 4th grade boys team coached by John Meyers finished their undefeated season last month by beating Colton in the league championship game earlier this month.
And just to make sure, they beat them twice.
The two teams entered the league championship with dual undefeated records.
The title game was decided on defense, with North Marion taking the first game by a 32-26 margin.
Since both teams were undefeated going in, the two squads played a second game, which the Huskies won by a much more comfortable margin of 40-14.
North Marion was 10-0, advancing to the title game behind a stalwart defense that limited opposing teams to an average of 17.8 points per game while average just more than 45 on offense.
The team opened the season with a dominating 61-2 victory over Molalla and followed with a 35-12 win against Molalla.
The Huskies then won six straight against fellow teams from North Marion, before playing their closest game of the regular season, a 40-34 victory against Estacada.
With each win, the team built more and more confidence in the possibility of going undefeated, said Meyers.
The kids started to believe in themselves that we had a chance to go undefeated, said Meyers. With every game, their confidence grew.
North Marion finished the regular season with a 57-12 win over a second Estacada team to forge their title games against Colton.
The Huskies were led on offense by Payton Meyers, who averaged 17.8 points per game, followed by Dawson Shrenk (9.8), Dylan Herron (7.0), Levi Hoffman?(4.0) and Salvador Gonzalez (3.9).
It was a fun season, said Coach Meyers. Everybody was into it and played hard.
