The North Marion girls basketball team finished in fourth place at the Vince Dulcich Tournament at Astoria High School over the weekend.
The Huskies (4-5) took two of three games over three days to finish the year on a strong note.
The team resumes play Friday at La Pine (5-4), followed by two more road games before the team returns home to host Central (6-1) on Jan. 14.

Gaston 41, Gervais 27
The Gervais girls came close to picking up their first win of the season Saturday in the consolation game of the Cougar Classic Tournament against Gaston.
Down 29-22 in the fourth quarter, the Cougars scored five straight to pull within two points before the Greyhounds went on a 12-point run to end the game.
With just one senior on the team, the Cougars (0-7) are learning on the fly this season as the teams young players get acclimated to the style and speed of play at the varsity level.
Weve made improvements in some areas, and I think theres some things where we have a little ways to go, said head coach Adam Vasas. Handling pressure, making our open shots, making our layups – we have to get better at that stuff.
Vasas views the team as a two-year building project, as the teams younger players build on this season while preparing for the years ahead.
Theyre learning that varsity basketball games are a little more physical, Vasas said. The speed of the game is just completely different for them.
The girls continue the season Friday at Monroe, followed by the league opener at Colton on Jan. 7.
