Dont be discouraged by street naming
To the editor:
In regards to the democratic process to name a street in the city of Woodburn: I hope the only no vote on the council brought forth by the only Latina member has her eyes open and learns that she has a lot of work to help all her people be and stay vigilant to that process.
Please do not confuse such a small defeat as a major loss. Be very aware that only the aye votes count.
Coaches grateful for support
To the editor:
The Woodburn girls and boys golf teams would like to thank our sponsors for being part of our first fundraiser at OGA course at Tukwila. We also want to extend our appreciation to head golf pro John Grothe for his leadership and professionalism for this event. In addition, we would like to recognize Jeff Tracy for all his help in connecting us with sponsors and participants.
We are thankful the Woodburn golf teams will be able to utilize this additional revenue through the sponsors participation and financial generosity to increase the teams golfing experience around the state, which would be outside our normal Mid-Willamette Valley conference competition. Their involvement has increased our chances of reaching our team goals of going to the OSAA state championship.
Our sponsors are Rudys Restaurant, Buffalo Wild Wings, Kens Auto Body, Macleays Country Inn, Lil Cooperstown, Outback Steakhouse, Golfsmith, Pro Active Sports, Alpha Broadcasting, Wankers Corner, Fischer, Alpha Nursery, The Killers, Langdon Farms, Long Bros. Building Supply, Oak Knoll Golf Course, Abbys Pizza, Divine Interiors by Design, Hallmark Realty, Woodburn Masonic Lodge, Northside Electric, New York Life, Winco Promotions, OGA Golf Course, Travis Terrall Attorney at Law, the Hitchin Post, Eric and Tina Wilson, Jeff Sanders Promotions and the Endzone.
Our sincere thanks for being part of our young women and mens education through the experiences they will receive playing the wonderful game of golf.
