Letter to the editor thanks community for supporting fire district

Firehouse Cook-off a success thanks to community support

To the editor:

The Woodburn Firehouse Cook–Off Board of Directors would like to thank the following for their strong support and efforts that they put into making the Woodburn Firehouse Cook-Off a successful event.

n The Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm and Iverson family for the great venue site and support that they provided in helping us create a family/community event for all to enjoy;

n The Woodburn FFA Alumni who provided staffing to support the event activities of the day;

n Woodburn Rotary, who staffed and maintained the food serving line;

n The numerous sponsors from our local community.

A special thanks to all of the volunteers from the local community, family members and friends who help make up the staff that are all so necessary in making this event run smoothly.

We founded this event six years ago with the simple concept to bring families and friends together and throw in a little barbecue competition, through which all who visit, compete, sponsor or volunteer are giving back to the local community.

For the opportunity to do that we thank you!
