Celebrate the holiday season with these upcoming local events in northern Marion County

Golf Car Parade 4-5 p.m. Dec. 7 & Dec. 8. The annual Woodburn Estates & Golf Golf Car Parade will be Thursday and Friday evenings through the Woodburn Estates neighborhood. Golf cars will start lining up at 1776 Country Club Road around 4 p.m. with the parade starting between 4:30 and 5 p.m.

Cookie and Candy Contest11 a.m. Dec. 9. This annual Garden Gallery Iron Works event is opened to amateur bakers of all ages. Entries must be submitted by Dec. 9 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the retail location, 2967 Industrial Ave., in Hubbard. Judging will begin at 11 a.m. and winners will be announced at 2 p.m. (contestants need not be present to win). Prizes will be awarded for each category. King's Heralds Quartet Concert6 p.m. Dec. 10. Hoodview Church of God, 1530 Mount Hood Ave. in Woodburn, hosts this special Christmas concert. Founded in 1927, 32 men have been part of this group since its inception, recording over 100 albums in thirty different languages in a variety of musical styles. The rich blend, harmony and balance of their a cappella style has been enjoyed internationally. The concert is free but a freewill offering will be received. Refreshments will be served afterward. The Living Christmas Story — 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 15-17. INDEPENDENT FILE PHOTO - A scene from the Living Christmas Story at Hoodview Church of GodHoodview Church of God will host the fifth annual presentation of the Living Christmas Story. Guests may choose to either walk-through or drive by 11 still life scenes from the life of Christ featuring actors in vivid costumes and backdrops. Free refreshments will also be available. Live Christmas Music & Dinner6 p.m. Dec. 16. The Butteville Store will have a dinner with live Christmas music with the music of Corral Creek Bluegrass Band. The Willamette Ballet Academy will perform the two acts and seven set changes with full costumes, a perfect holiday performance for young and old. At the Canby Fine Arts Center, 950 S.W. Community Christmas Celebration6 p.m. Dec. 16. Celebrate the first coming of the King of kings with carols, special music, fellowship and the spoken word. Refreshments will be available following the celebration. Your donations of nonperishable food items for the local food bank are most welcome.
