Police have arrested Servin Hernandez-Garcia, 26, in connection with the crime. After serving a search warrant, officers reportedly found a gun with ammunition and empty shell casings in Hernandez-Garcia's downtown apartment.

Hernandez-Garcia was booked at the Marion County Correctional Facility and has been charged with attempted criminal homicide, attempted murder and unlawful use of a weapon. His first court appearance has been set for Tuesday, according to online jail records.

Woodburn police spokesman Jason Horton confirmed Saturday that both the suspect and victim lived downtown, but said he did not know the nature of their dispute.

He said that police believe there were witnesses to the crime, but they had left the area by the time police arrived at the scene. The shooting occurred shortly after 8 p.m. Friday, Horton said.

Street access in the area was restricted for several hours Friday night while the shooting was being investigated.
