Hubbard City Council President Bruce Warner has announced he will not run for re-election this November.

Warner has been on the city council since August 2003, and announced his intentions at the Aug. 12 City Council meeting, stating that his work schedule has made it difficult to attend meetings.

“But I’m not going away; I’ll still be around,” he said, adding that he might come back to the city in some capacity. “I want to thank the city of Hubbard for the support all these years.”

Angie Wheatcroft is the other city councilor whose position is up for re-election, although it’s unclear whether she will seek another term.

Mayor Jim Yonally, whose two-year term also expires in 2015, said he has submitted paperwork for re-election.

The deadline to be on the Nov. 4 ballot is Aug. 26.
