The gathering at City Hall has been a Woodburn tradition for years. This year, the event was led by Luis Molina, pastor of Woodburn Foursquare Church.

“We’re blessed to be able to come together in prayer," Molina told the group of more than 50 who came together Thursday at noon.

As they usually do, the entire student body of St. Luke Catholic School walked down to City Hall to take part in the event.

“When I see kids here, I remember the scripture, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these,’” Molina said in his address to the crowd. “You children have favor in God’s eyes.”

The event included prayers for city, state and federal government, as well as for schools and first responders. Molina led in prayer, then opened the floor for anyone to say a prayer, including the students. The St. Luke students closed singing the hymn “Beacons of Light.”
