Murder suspect extradited to Oregon

Ramon Peña-Cornelio, 20, of Woodburn, was arrested in Sacramento, Calif., March 5 in connection with the Feb. 6 stabbing death of 18-year-old Ricardo Hernandez, also of Woodburn.

According to police, Hernandez was stabbed multiple times and later died at an area hospital.

Peña-Cornelio was lodged at the Marion County Correctional Facility April 8 and is being held without bond. His next court date is Friday morning, according to online jail records.

Peña-Cornelio’s capture in California was a result of the collaborative efforts of the Woodburn Police Department, the U.S. Marshals Task Force, the Oregon State Police and the Sacramento Police Department.
