Traeger addresses crowd at Mayor's Prayer Breakfast

by: LINDSAY KEEFER - Randy Traeger addresses a crowd of nearly 80 guests at Woodburn United Methodist Church for the Mayor's Prayer Breakfast March 4.Randy Traeger, longtime Kennedy High School football coach and creator of Virtue First Foundation, was the guest speaker at the annual Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast at the United Methodist Church in Woodburn last Tuesday.

Traeger talked about putting out cultural fires that burn today’s youths, caused by individualism, hedonism, minimalism, relativism and materialism. He encouraged the audience of nearly 80 guests to help put outby: LINDSAY KEEFER - Tiffany Kuenzi and John Hassler serenaded the audience at the 34th annual Mayor's Prayer Breakfast March 4, preceding guest speaker Randy Traeger. these fires in young people by educating them, setting positive examples, professing unconditional love for them, taking the time for them and just being present.

The event also featured words from Woodburn Mayor Kathy Figley, who reminded attendees that minds are like a garden and each thought is a plant that is either cultivated or needs replaced.

The event, put on by the Woodburn?Kiwanis Club, featured music from Kiwanian Tiffany Kuenzi and guitarist John Hassler. The event was also made possible by Al’s Garden Center, Yes Graphics, Curt’s Body Shop, Pacific Northwest Transmission, Woodburn Radiator and Glass, Les Schwab, Piper’s Jewelry and Long Bros.
