Homicide suspect Ramon Peña-Cornelio was arrested in Sacramento, Calif., on Wednesday.
Peña-Cornelio, 20, of Woodburn, has been arrested for the Feb. 6 stabbing death of 18-year-old Ricardo Hernandez in Woodburn.
Peña-Cornelios capture was a result of the collaborative efforts of the Woodburn Police Department; the agencies that comprise the U.S. Marshals Task Force, which includes the Oregon State Police; and with the assistance of the Sacramento Police Department.
Peña-Cornelio is being held without bail at the Sacramento County Jail with a scheduled appearance on Friday at 1:30 p.m.
According to a release from the Marion County District Attorney's Office, the State of Oregon will seek extradition of Peña-Cornelio from California.
