Woodburn Family University symposium set for March 11
The Woodburn School Districts Family University will be hosting a symposium on March 11, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Lincoln Elementary School.
The keynote speaker, Superintendent Chuck Ransom, will address attendees. Dinner and dessert, made possible through a federal grant, will be offered from 6 to 6:30 p.m. In addition, entertainment will be provided by Nellie Muirs Cosecha Mestiza dance group.
This event has something for the entire family.
Breakout session topics for adults include: Understanding your role as the parent of a student on an IEP, Clear & Simple: Talking with your teen about sex and relationships, Surviving tax season, and Migrant rights and benefits.
Children will be able to choose from a variety of fun learning opportunities, including Math iPad Arcade, arts and crafts, chess club, robotics and more.
Teens can attend the college and career workshop, and children ages 4-5 can attend the pre-K/kindergarten group and learn school readiness skills as well.
