Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics are the focus of the second annual Woodburn STEAM Festival, to be held on March 14 at Lincoln Elementary School starting at 5 p.m.
Similar to a hands-on science fair and talent show, the STEAM festival offers students the opportunity to learn about these important educational concepts in interactive and engaging ways.
Woodburn School District is partnering with Pacific University, Woodburn Together and the Woodburn After-school Club to present the STEAM Festival, which will feature live student presentations, interactive displays and activities, connections to real-world occupations, fun snacks, a 30-foot egg drop contest and a STEAM Showcase. The showcase, like a talent show, will allow students to demonstrate what theyve learned about STEAM with guests.
Students are asked to register to present a display, presentation or to participate in the showcase, and teachers are encouraged to promote STEAM in their classrooms. Community presenters are also invited to register to provide an interactive activity for families Volunteers are also needed.
