Local business awarded by Oregon Department of Agriculture
Wilco, headquartered in Mount Angel, has been named the Oregon Product Retailer of the Year by the Oregon Department of Agriculture.
The company, which is the largest farm supply cooperative in the Pacific Northwest, was given the award for its service and support of Oregon agriculture, according to a press release.
ODA will honor award winners at the 22nd annual Agricultural Progress Awards Dinner in Salem March 12. The event celebrates progress in agriculture made through partnerships between business, higher education and state government.
ODA Director Katy Coba will present the awards.
Other winners include the Oregon Potato Commission for excellence in marketing; the Clackamas and Wasco Counties Soil and Water Conservation Districts for Cooperator of the Year; the Summer Ag Institute for excellence in education; and John McCulley, of Salem, Jim Krahn, of Vernonia, and Carol Mallory-Smith, of Albany, for individual contributions to agriculture.
The Agricultural Progress Awards Dinner will be March 12, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Spinning Room of the Willamette Heritage Center at the Mill, 1313 Mill St. S.E. in Salem, preceded by a no-host social hour and reception at 5:30 p.m.
