The flower basket program is hanging in there after 15 years of keeping the city colorful.
Woodburn Proud, which has organized the program since 2012, is starting to collect funds to fill the city with hanging flower baskets purchased through Als Garden Center.
Were primarily doing it because we want to beautify the city and we want the program to keep going, said Kelly Long, Woodburn Proud president.
Longs goal is to spread the flower baskets throughout the city and hang the baskets outside of the businesses that purchase them.
DataVision Communications, located in Gervais, will be partnering with Woodburn Proud to hang the baskets prior to Memorial Day weekend and expect to have them hung until October.
Prices are: $25 to water one flower basket for one month, $50 to purchase one flower basket, $125 for half of a flower basket and basket care and $250 for one full flower basket and basket care. However, Long mentioned any donation will help contribute to the program.
Basket hooks will be recycled to Als Garden Center for next year and remaining material from the baskets will be composted.
Woodburn Proud will be accepting donations for this program until April 30.
