Applications for the 2014 Fiesta Mexicana Court will be accepted through Feb. 21.
Candidates will be evaluated on commitment to academics, community service, performance, during the VIP Event and Coronation functions, where the Queen and First Princess will be selected.
Applications are available at all Woodburn High Schools, Mount Angel High School, Gervais High School and North Marion High School and open to any Woodburn resident attending a school outside the area or local charter school. It is open to female juniors or seniors graduating in May 2014. They must have a 2.5 or better GPA, be bilingual (Spanish) and single (not married, engaged and/or a parent) for the 18-month commitment of the program. In addition, the applicant must submit school transcripts, three individual photos, answers to supplemental questions and a signed waiver.
Applications can be turned in at the Woodburn Area Chamber of Commerce office, 979 Young St. Suite A, or by sending it to P.O. Box 194, Woodburn, OR 97071.
Applicants can expect to receive a letter of acceptance/denial by Feb. 28.
Orientation night is scheduled for March 7 at 6 p.m. in the council chambers at City Hall. The orientation, meetings, coaching and practices are open to the public.
