Saturday highway crash injures six
Six people were injured Saturday morning when a van collided with a commercial truck near the northbound on-ramp of Interstate 5 at the Donald/Aurora exit.
Oregon State Police Sgt. Mike Davie reports that around 9:50 a.m., the van, which held residents from Eugene and Springfield, was on the on-ramp when it rear-ended a tanker trailer, pulled by a commercial truck. All six of the van's occupants were injured, three critically.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, but conditions were foggy at the time.
The on-ramp and one lane of I-5 were closed for about two-and-a-half hours.
