Spread some holiday cheer in the Independent

The holidays are all about traditions. This year, Woodburn Independent is starting a new tradition and everyone is invited to join in.by: FILE PHOTO - Submit your holiday cards to run in the Woodburn Independent no later than 5 p.m. on Dec. 19 to ensure they will run in the Independent's Dec. 25 issue.

The newspaper will print your family holiday photos and greetings in a special issue published on Christmas Day, Dec. 25. This is your chance to spread some local holiday cheer by sharing your family photos with your friends and neighbors.

“We hope this will become an annual tradition,” Independent Publisher Nikki DeBuse said. “Send us your photo greeting cards, or take a fun photo with your kids or pets. Dress up in holiday colors, put some antlers on the dog and write a special greeting from your family. Get into the holiday spirit and have some fun.”

All family photos submitted will appear in the Woodburn Independent Dec. 25 issue. To make it easy, you can email your family photo to the Independent at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with the subject line “Independent Holiday Cheer.”

Holiday family photos can also be mailed to: Independent Holiday Cheer, P.O. Box 96, Woodburn, OR 97071.

You can also bring your photos to the newspaper office at 650 N. First St. in downtown Woodburn.

Please be sure to include the names of the people or animals in your photo. You can also include a short message. Please also add your phone number in case we have any questions.

The deadline to submit your holiday photos is 5 p.m. Dec. 19.
