Nov. 14 college night open to students around region

The ECMC College Night in Woodburn will take place at Woodburn High School on Nov. 14.

This college fair is open to anyone in the Marion County area.

The fair will run from 6 to 8 p.m.

There will be free pizza and soda, as well as information on scholarship opportunities and college planning.

Attendees can learn how to: choose the right college or academic program, find financial aid and make college affordable, search for scholarships and avoid scams, and complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

The event is most appropriate for high school juniors and seniors and their parents, said Mario Garza, counselor at Woodburn High School who is helping organize the event.

Confirmed participants include the following colleges and universities:

• Chemeketa Community College

• George Fox University

• Linfield College

• Oregon Tech (OIT)

• Oregon State University

• Pacific University

• Portland State University

• Southern Oregon University

• University of Portland

• University of Oregon

• Western Oregon University

• Willamette University
