Dutch Bros. opens with '80s-themed rock

by: JEFF MCDONALD - A steady stream of cars lined up to get $1 drinks at the new Dutch Bros. on the corner of Evergreen Road and Highway 214 in Woodburn Thurseday. All money from the Grand Opening day will be donated to the Woodburn School District. The line of cars started before Dutch Bros. opened its second coffee kiosk at 5:30 Thursday morning at the corner of Evergreen Road and Highway 214, with purchases benefiting the Woodburn School District.

The song "Tainted Love" blasted from speakers as baristas dressed in '80s attire worked their way through the long line that last through the afternoon.

Between 2,500 to 3,000 drinks were expected to be made throughout the day. All revenues from the grand opening would be donated to the Woodburn School District, owner Shannon Williams said.

From 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, local blues rock band Ty Curtis is expected to entertain customers as they wait in line.

Starting Friday, the new kiosk will be open from 4:30 a.m. until midnight, seven days a week, Williams said.
