Woodburns first public art mural project outside the CAPACES Leadership Institute is about 35 percent done and on time for completion by late August, said Juanishi Orosco, who is leading the painting process.
Volunteers from Corvallis apply foundation to the mural, which will be mixed and blended by Orosco and others, he said.
This week, 20 more volunteers from Astoria, Portland and Salem are expected to contribute to the project.
Its an honor and a privilege to work with Juanishi, said Ron Mize, a volunteer from Corvallis. He has been central to the Hispanic art movement throughout California and the West.
