The volunteer firefighters will use the money to contribute to other local non-profit organizations, sports and school groups, the Hubbard Police K-9 program, the North Marion County School District Scholarship program and will possibly contribute to local parks as well, Hansen wrote in an email. by: BY JEFF MCDONALD - Dancers from Karla's Academy of Performing Arts of Molalla perform as part of the festival's parade on Third Street. The parades theme was 'Celebrating our Veterans,' with a group of veterans serving as grand marshal and a number of entries who were dressed in red, white and blue.

The firefighters also use some of the funds to pay for an annual firefighter reunion banquet, its annual Christmas party, and to purchase any specialized gear, clothing or equipment the firefighters would like to have, according to Hansen.

“We also have to save some of these funds to pay for the next Hop Festival,” Hansen wrote. “Many people don’t take into consideration that it costs quite a bit to put on a community celebration, but we are happy to do so each year.” by: BY JEFF MCDONALD - Local favorite Jared Halter won the ever-popular annual horseshoe tournament.
