The team, which placed 2nd last year, runs to victory

This year, the Crush Hour squad did that one better.Photo Credit: SUBMITTED PHOTO - TRIUMPHANT TEAM -- The Crush Hour squad, featuring local high school athletes, won the women's open division at the Portland to Coast High School Challenge.

The team, captained by Tigard High School junior Rachel Josephson, ran to victory at the 2014 Portland to Coast High School Challenge, held Friday and Saturday.

The squad, comprised by a group of local high school athletes, many coming from Tigard High School, triumphed in the 130-mile relay race, from Portland to Seaside, in a time of 17 hours, 32 minutes and 12 seconds — a pace of 7:59 a mile.

The mark of 17:32:12 put the Crush Hour team more than 23 minutes ahead of the second-place squad, Beautiful Speed. Wilson Chicks with Kicks finished in third place with a time of 18:32:43.

Members of the victorious Crush Hour team includes Natalie Bryant, Natalie Shaw, Hannah McGaughey, Ellie Dean, Ellie Freeman, Josephson, Rachel Khaw, McKenna Masterson, Raney Roche, Mikayla Farr, Margaret Halstead and Abbey Anderson.
