Tigard turns in fast times in giant slalom


by: MIKE JULIANA PHOTOGRAPHY - MAKING THE TURN -- Tigard's Corey Fusick gets past the gate during Sunday's Metro League giant slalom event.MT. HOOD — The Tigard High School ski teams turned in some fast times and strong races at the Metro League giant slalom event held Sunday at Mt. Hood Meadows.

The Tigard girls finished in fourth place in the team standings at the event with a total time of 9 minutes, 13.76 seconds.

Marina Predovic led the way for the Tigers. She placed sixth, individually, with a two-run time of 2:53.46.

Also for the Tigard girls, Molly Roush was 11th with a mark of 3:03.64. Avery Branen was 19th at 3:21.32, Kaitlyn Worthley was 22nd at 3:28.69 and Remi Harrison was 29th at 5:19.94.

For the Tigard boys, Corey Fusick skied to 13th place in a time of 2:51.53.

Jesuit took first place in both the boys and girls team standings at the race. Jesuit's Andis Solomon was the individual winner of the boys race and Jesuit's Jenna Jansky was the individual winner of the girls race.
