Tualatin, Sherwood skiers compete in giant slalom


MT. HOOD — Racers from Tualatin and Sherwood high schools turned in some competitive times at the Three Rivers League giant slalom ski race, held Sunday at Shooting Star Ridge at Mt. Hood Meadows.

Tualatin's Ben Juliana led the way for the area boys competitors at the event. He finished in 22nd place in the individual standings with a two-run time of 1 minute, 25.5 seconds.

For the Sherwood boys, Kenny Ross finished 42nd with a mark of 1:37.6 and Jacob Keeth was 43rd at 1:39.1

On the girls side, Sherwood's Leira Feves finished in 30th place with a mark of 1:44.3.

The Lincoln girls and the West Linn boys took first place in the team standings for the race. Parkrose's Emily Sarich was the individual winner of the girls race and West Linn's Trevor Maxwell was the individual winner of the boys race.
