The Twins finished their season with a six-game postseason winning streak, wrapping up that streak with a 9-6 win over Clackamas in the championship game of the Futures season-ending tournament, held Saturday at Forest Grove.

With that six-game winning streak, the Twins finished their summer season with a final overall record of 28-14.

Tyler Walker, a Tigard High School junior-to-be, pitched the first six innings for the Twins in Saturday’s tourney championship contest. David Howell pitched the final inning to record the save.

Cole Cameron, JT Greenough, Jonny Meusch and Walker each had run-scoring tripled in the contest. Greenough drove in a total of three runs.

The Tigard squad started its postseason trek back on July 18, when it swept a home doubleheader against Tualatin to claim a best-of-three playoff series win.

The Twins got a 1-0 win in 10 innings in the first game of the twinbill. Howell picked up the pitching victory and Meusch drove in the game-winning run. Tigard won the second game 15-3.

Walker went 6 for 6 at the plate in the win with a triple and a double. Jarod Gogal went 3 for 4 with a pair of doubles. Henry Ammann went 3 for 4.

Brett Thomas picked up the pitching victory.

With the playoff series win, the Twins advanced to play in the Futures tourney.

Tigard opened tourney play on July 24 with a 3-1 win over Lake Oswego. Howell, again, was the winning pitcher, with Amman getting the save. Gogal went 2 for 4 at the plate with a double and an RBI.

Last Thursday, Tigard posted a 3-1 win over Clackamas in a winners’ bracket semifinal game of the eight-team, double elimination tournament.

Greenough recorded the pitching victory, with Ammann notching the save. David Schimmels went 2 for 2 at the plate with an RBI. Tyler Prock went 1 for 2 with an RBI and Alex Kelly added a double.

In Friday’s winners’ bracket final, Tigard blasted its way to a 13-6 win over Oregon City.

Meusch had a big day at the plate, going 3 for 4 with a triple. Cory Fusick and Schimmels each added a triple while Gogal and Greenough both doubled in the win.

Thomas picked up the pitching victory.

With the win over Oregon City, Tigard advanced to play Clackamas in the championship.

Other players on the Tigard team include Brady Bulger, Tyler Cach, Joey Edgerton, David Johnson, Justin Moss, Sam Nihill, Andrew Randall, Nick Stevens, Zach Stevenson and Bryce Tucker.

The team was coached by Spencer Kreisberg, Greg Bial and Don Fitzgerald.
