Students at Hazelbrook Middle School are performing "High School Musical Jr." this weekend, from Thursday, May 18, to Sunday, May 21.
The show is directed by Debra Stevens, who described it as a "celebration of unity and individual uniqueness," with protagonists that stand up to peer pressure.
Cole Braun and Alejandra Vargas portray the leads in the show, Troy and Gabriella.
"High School Musical Jr." is a one-act musical based on the 2006 Disney Channel television movie "High School Musical," which spawned a franchise starring Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens as the lead characters.
Performances Thursday, Friday and Saturday start at 7 p.m. Sunday's show is a matinee starting at 2 p.m.
Tickets are $5. All seats are general admission.
The show will be staged at Hazelbrook Middle School, 11300 S.W. Hazelbrook Road, Tualatin.
