Update: Tigard Police investigate early morning shooting
Tigard Police Department officials say the search continues for a suspect who reportedly shot a man in Tigard early Tuesday morning.
Police have released few details about the shooting but said a woman at The Birches Apartment, 11495 S.W. Greenburg Road, told police that at about 1:10 a.m. her friend had been shot.
According to Jim Wolf, a spokesman with Tigard Police, officers were on the scene within two minutes of the 911 call, where they found a 27-year-old man bleeding from a single gunshot wound.
The victim, Clerence Orlando Harris, 27, Portland, was taken to Oregon Health & Science University Hospital with what appeared to be serious but non-life-threatening injuries, Wolf said.
A K-9 team searched the area for the shooter, but was unable to locate the suspect.
Wolf would not say where on the body Harris was shot.
Wolf said that as of Tuesday afternoon, police officers had not been able to speak to the victim but were optimistic they would be able to interview him soon.
Wolf did say the victim reportedly knew the shooter.
No description of the shooter was released, and no arrests have been made.
Wolf said the police department planned to do additional outreach in the area to find any witnesses.
