The rankings were based on a combination of economic strength, job growth, affordability, good schools, diversity, health care, a strong sense of community and more, according to a magazine spokeswoman.
"As residents of Sherwood we always knew it was one of the best places to live; now the secret is out," said Sherwood Mayor Bill Middleton.
"We are thrilled to hear that Sherwood was named the fifth 'Best Small Town' by CNN Money Magazine; it is an acknowledgment that our wonderful community deserves," said Nancy Bruton, executive director of the Sherwood Chamber of Commerce. "Those of us that live, play, and conduct business in Sherwood recognize that Sherwood is a place with vibrant friendly people and great activities and opportunities; it is beyond compare."
Bruton said it was an honor that a magazine of CNN Money magazine's prestige recognizes "how wonderful this place truly is."
