Once you have filed, if you are due a refund, you can check its status at the IRS page "Where's my refund?" at www.irs.gov/refunds. For the vast majority of early filers who claimed the Earned Income Tax Credit or the Additional Child Tax Credit, the site was updated on Feb. 18.

Before that date, some taxpayers were only able to view a projected deposit date or an intermittent message that the IRS is processing their return.

By law, the IRS was required to hold EITC and ACTC refunds until Feb. 15. However, due to differing timeframes with financial institutions, weekends and the Feb. 20 Presidents Day holiday, taxpayers may not see those refunds until the week of Feb. 27.

Call AccounTax of Oregon today to get the process rolling! We do both personal and business taxes, for federal and state returns.
