SANDY — The Sandy girls were dominant in their contest against Grant on Thursday night, and Hana Wigzell was at the forefront of it all.

In just three quarters of action, Wigzell dropped in 10 goals as the Pioneers pulled away with the convincing 16-2 win over the Generals.

10-goal games aren't particularly common in the world of high school water polo, but for Wigzell, this performance was nothing out of the ordinary.

"Hana's performance is always top-notch. This isn't her first double-digit goal game," Sandy head coach Jaime Nippert said. "She is pretty consistently scoring more than six goals per game and she is not only helping with goals, she is also getting her assists up and her steals are always counted on. She is one of the best all-around players in this conference."

Wigzell would score all four Sandy goals in the first quarter to give the Pioneers the 4-0 lead, and she would would continue her rapid scoring pace with two more scores in the first two possessions of the second quarter. Emma Donahue would get in on the scoring action two trips later with a goal of her own to increase the Sandy lead to 7-0.

"We communicate really well out there. I think that is probably our best all-around team aspect," Wigzell said. "Hopefully we can keep this going for the rest of the season."
