Hoodland Women's Club hosts crab feed
Whether your 2018 is off to a great start or you're already hoping it improves over time, the Hoodland Women's Club plans to make it better with its ninth-annual crab feed fundraiser at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, at the Mt. Hood Village RV Resort, 65000 E. Highway 26.
"It's a night of just cracking away and having a good ol' time," said event organizer Brigette Romeo.
Busy Bee Catering is set to cook the meal, complete with garlic bread, clam chowder, coleslaw and, of course, crab meat. There will also be roast beef for those who don't enjoy seafood, but don't want to miss out on the fun.
"We don't have a whole lot of events like this up here," Romeo said. "It's always been a fun event. Everybody enjoys it."
The event also includes live music by Bodacious and Julie McCarl Cajun Music and a raffle. Last year the raffle alone raised $600 for the Women's Club so that it could continue to fund community events and scholarships.
"It's an event for the Hoodland Women's Club to give back to the community," Romeo said. "The Women's Club tries to do everything they can for the community."
Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for children under 12 years of age and are available for purchase at Welches Clackamas County Bank, 67403 Highway 26, Welches; Welches Mountain Supply Store, 67250 Highway 26, Welches; Welches Liquor Store, 68254 Highway 26, Welches; and the Still Creek Inn and Restaurant, 73365 Highway 26, Rhododendron.
