Improv group rocks the house

Laughter in the theater should be heard for miles from the Boring-Damascus Grange Hall

The Nutz-N-Boltz Theater in Boring has a comedy team that does improvisational comedy theater four or five times each year.

The next laugh riot in Boring is scheduled from 7-8:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, at the theater, which is inside the Boring-Damascus Grange Hall, 27861 Grange St. in Boring.

This theater troupe includes nine actors who have been working together for a year. Kelsey Brand leads the group.

The acting is so informal that the audience is included, and the theater’s artistic director, Kelly Lazenby, says it’s like “Whose Line is it, Anyway?”

The show is presented in a free-form style and includes a series of rehearsed games. The audience participates by providing such things as lines, topics and titles for the troupe to work with.

This performance is funny and family friendly. It’s a good way to get the family together and have fun because they do not use objectionable language or adult scenarios.

The comedy team is called, for lack of any other name, “To Be Announced,” with a nickname of TBA.

All of the improv shows are at the Boring-Damascus Grange Hall. For more information, call Lazenby at 503-593-1295 or visit nnbtheater.com.
