Clackamas County Sheriff assists with Boring raid
Gresham police and Clackamas County Sheriff's deputies raided a chop shop in the 35000 block of Bell Maple Drive in Boring where they detained several people for questioning. The state Department of Human Services was also called in because there was child living on the property.
Several stolen vehicles were found at the site, including a 1957 Chevrolet that had been totally stripped down, a snowmobile and two other confirmed stolen vehicles. Investigators are looking to the ownership of other vehicles on the property, all in various states of dissassembly, according to a statement from Gresham police. A further search of the property revealed a small illegal marijuana patch.
Detectives will continue to work with victims to identify stolen vehicles and parts, assisted by Clackamas County Sheriff's deputies. The raid was a major break in an investigation over several months by Gresham police.
