Mt. Hood Hospice garage sale benefits pets

Mt. Hood Hospice is holding a garage sale to benefit its Pet Peace of Mind Program, which supports the pets of hospice families.

The sale is schedule for Friday, July 25, Saturday, July 26, and Sunday, July 27 in Gresham, at 3408 N.E. 29th St.

First time home buyers learn what to expect

Sandy’s John L. Scott Reality is offering a First Time Home Buyers class. The free class is sponsored by Marie Teune and Kip Johnson of John L. Scott.

The class, which will be held from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 26, in the John L. Scott downstairs conference room, 17150 University Ave., Suite 200.

It will cover the process of buying your first home, what to expect and the benefits of owning versus renting. Those who haven’t owned a home in some years are also encouraged to attend.

Coffee and cookies will be served.

Proposals sought to convert city’s lights

Proposals are needed for a conversion of City Hall’s lighting

The work consists of furnish and installing LED lighting in existing fluorescent and incandescent fixtures and removal of approximately 2,200 square feet of 12-by-12-inch interlocking acoustic tile, non-asbestos, ceiling panels and replacement with 2-by-4-foot suspended T-grid system

Proposal documents are due by 4 p.m. Thursday, July 3, and can be found online at cityofsandy.com.

City seeks job applicants in planning

The city of Sandy plans to hire a new planning assistant in its planning and development department.

The position is part-time and permanent. Salary range is $2,975 to $3,796 per month.

A completed application, which can be found online at cityofsandy.com, and a cover letter must be submitted by 5 p.m. June 27. Application forms can also be picked up at City Hall, 39250 Pioneer Blvd.
