MHCC plans mock funerals for students

Mt. Hood Community College’s 18th annual Funeral Arrangement Exercise will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 18 in the Town and Gown room on the Gresham Campus, 26000 S.E. Stark St.

Second-year Funeral Service Education students will work with volunteers to create mock funeral arrangements. Volunteers are needed. Spend Valentine’s Day with a book

Looking for a date for Valentine’s Day? Head to the Sandy and Hoodland public libraries for a blind date with a book.

An assortment of fiction and nonfiction titles have been wrapped in brown paper and placed on display. A few clues about each book have been written on the paper. Don’t judge a book by its cover. Come check out one of our blind date books while supplies last. You just might find your perfect match.

The Sandy Library, at 38980 Proctor Blvd. in downtown Sandy, is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1-5 p.m.

The Hoodland Library, at 68256 E.
