Community acupuncture clinic opens

Faiz Healing offers Thursday hours

Julie Hightman has been practicing healing arts in Sandy for seven years. After opening her practice, Faiz Healing on Pioneer Boulevard, and adding acupuncture in September 2013, Hightman has decided to go one step further in serving the community.

On Thursdays from 5-8 p.m. Faiz Healing offers a community clinic, helping Hightman fulfill one of her goals: to offer low cost, effective alternative healthcare for the community.

Hightman described the clinic as beneficial for anyone who has never tried acupuncture or for those who don’t have the time or financial resources to receive consistent treatment.

She added that many who come in fearful of acupuncture realize that it’s not at all what they thought, and it can be very relaxing. by: CONTRIBUTED PHOTO: FAIZ HEALING - The needles used in Faiz Healings acupuncture practices are much smaller than many with fear of needles expect.

“I’d really like to help the community come together with the intent for growth in health and wellness,” Hightman said.

Customers for the clinic are encouraged to reserve a chair. The chairs run for $30 for 20 minutes.

Faiz Healing offers licensed massage therapy, advanced cranialsacral therapy, pain management and rehabilitation, holistic health consulting and medicinal aromatherapy and reiki.

Since Hightman has not had a lot of success filling her Thursday night chairs, she has decided to raise awareness through a grand opening on Jan. 30.

Eventually, Hightman would like to add more availability to her clinic by adding more night to the schedule.
