Wy'east's Snow Show available to view Jan. 2

Every month, the Wy’east Artisans Guild features a new artist in the gallery at the Sandy Area Chamber of Commerce office. Starting Jan. 2, the gallery will display the work of 10 artists, all of whom focus on one topic: snow.

The chamber office is open to view the display from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

The Wy’east Artisans Guild is a nonprofit organization of artists and craftspeople in the Mount Hood area.

Joanne Rohweder, who worked to arrange the collaborative, beginning-of-the-year “Snow Show,” said she began learning to paint in Boring and decided to join the guild to get involved with the community.

The guild’s general meetings are held from 6:30-9 p.m. the second Monday of every month at the Clackamas County Bank Theatre, 38975 Proctor Blvd. They are open to the public.

“We are always looking for folks who are interested in learning about art and participating in our shows,” said Wy’east President Claire Harrison. Those who are interested can contact Harrison at 503-708-9065.
