Plans to close Morgan Road at its intersection with Tonquin Road for grading work this weekend have been postponed.
According to a Washington County Land Use & Transportation Department tweet, plans to close Morgan Road April 7-10 have been postponed due to work delays. A new date is being planned for May.
When it occurs, work will be done during the closure to raise the grade of Morgan Road, according to the county. The change in grade will allow Morgan Road to match the new alignment of Tonquin Road, which is being improved as part of a larger project to extend 124th Avenue south from Tualatin into the Basalt Creek area and construct part of a planned east-west road called Basalt Creek Parkway through the area.
Improvements are also being made to nearby Grahams Ferry Road as part of the project.
Plans call for the new section of 124th Avenue and Basalt Creek Parkway to open this fall. Work on Tonquin and Grahams Ferry roads is not expected to be complete until next year.
